Note: this was a letter sent to one of our Outpatient Services Counselors, Martin Phillips. Martin also happens to be our lead therapist for our new, Outpatient Problem Gambling Program! Call 763.479. 4881 for more info on that specific program and the Rule 82 assessments we can conduct for it.)
I would like to take the time to thank you for all your hard work and cooperation in the last 6 months that I’ve been in treatment with you and the rest of the Vinland staff. I learned a lot of new things during my stay that I didn’t know about before, like a relapse prevention plan, for instance, as well as learning about brain injuries.
I know I was quite stubborn at times during the middle of my treatment, but I really appreciated the time you took to work with me and help me out during my stay at Vinland. It was also nice to get to know some of the other people there in group, and to learn their stories and side of life, as it kind of opened my eyes a little bit on some of the early-on help that some of these clients did not receive when they were young.
All in all, I had a great treatment experience at Vinland, and would recommend it to anyone else that has difficulty with chemical and substance abuse and is looking for support to help move their life in a more positive, sober direction.
You can pass this email on to the rest of the team, because, of course, they were just as great in helping me out with my stay at Vinland! I will be sure to stay in touch with Kayla (coordinator) either on a weekly or biweekly basis, and maybe will come visit you guys sometime down the road!
Thanks for all your help, and it was much appreciated working with such a great team!

P.S. Marty: I actually can now do the “loon” sound when whistling; I practiced a few times, and can do it very well now! Sometimes, it can be annoying for my parents!! 😂
Thanks so much, A.! We are so happy to hear from you! Vinland Staff
