Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment

If you have struggled to keep up with group material or assignments at other addiction treatment centers, Vinland Center could be a better program for you. Our substance use disorder treatment program is designed for individuals with memory issues, learning disabilities, and/or other cognitive impairments.

Vinland provides drug and alcohol treatment for adults with cognitive impairments. Our staff members strive to make all possible accommodations for cognitive deficits and adaptations for individual learning styles.

Vinland is a fully-accredited substance abuse treatment center licensed by the State of Minnesota. We use evidenced-based approaches to addiction treatment. Our staff are highly-trained and licensed professionals.

Our Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program is for people with disabilities and varying levels of substance use disorder issues. We serve adults ages 18 and older.

We understand that past trauma is common for people struggling with addiction, which is why we provide trauma-informed services aimed at reducing triggers and avoiding re-traumatization.

Comprehensive Assessments/Rule
25 Assessments

Comprehensive/Rule 25 Assessments are offered at our Outpatient Services location! Mon - Fri with 24 hour results. Contact us at 763.479.3555 and ask for Outpatient Services to schedule an appointment.

Mindfulness
Meditation

Developed in partnership with the University of Minnesota's Center for Spirituality & Healing, Vinland offers an adapted mindfulness meditation program. Studies prove that meditation improves recovery outcomes.

Art
Therapy

Research has shown that art therapy can improve a client's ability to process emotions, thoughts and interpret feelings. At Vinland, clients draw, paint and create collages - and when it's a subject one might not feel comfortable talking about, we find it is often easier to draw or create a picture about the subject or emotion. No prior art experience is necessary to see the benefits of art therapy.

Central Location

Vinland’s Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program offers convenient scheduling with morning sessions, ensuring people get the services they need while fulfilling their work, family, and life obligations. Our Outpatient office is located in Northeast Minneapolis, which makes our office easily accessible via car, bus, and assisted transportation services such as Metro Mobility®.

What to Expect

Specifically designed for adults living with cognitive impairments and varying levels of substance misuse issues, this is a comprehensive treatment program that addresses multiple barriers to long-term sobriety.

Sessions are conducted at a comfortable pace with frequent repetition, taking into account each individual's particular needs and learning styles. Participants are provided with assignments to ensure individual needs are appropriately addressed. Counselors use several modes of teaching to accommodate different learning styles among participants.

Groups meet Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The number of days each participant attends per week varies on the individual's recovery needs. The program length is determined based on collaboration between client and their case manager.

General Admissions Info

Vinland serves adults, ages 18 and older. To begin the admissions process, participants must complete a comprehensive substance use disorder or Rule 25 assessment, which can be conducted at our Outpatient location. We can also conduct these assessments for adolescents.

We accept consolidated treatment funds (CTF), pre-paid medical plans (PMAPS), most insurance plans and private pay clients.
