FAQ

Q: How do I sign up to attend an upcoming Family/Support System Program?

A: During the first 24 hours of participation in the program patients are given the option to include family members or supportive people in the treatment process. At that time, they will be given contact information for the dedicated email address that their family members can use to opt into the two sessions. We ask that each person have a limit of two family members to ensure enough space for as many people as possible.

Q: How do I know everything is set for me to attend?

A: You will receive an email confirming your two spots or if at capacity, you will be offered the next available date when the group meets.

Q: What are some of the topics to be covered during these sessions?

A: The two-hour group will dedicate half of its time to education and the other half to support. The education topics will include information on the neurocognitive explanation of addiction, basic understanding of cognition with ways to compensate for co-occurring cognitive impairment and the therapeutic conditions for family recovery from addiction. The second half will be a period of support led by a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in which participants can share relevant experiences, get support and ask questions.

Q: Where will the program be held – how do I get there?

A:
