Meet Our Intern Eric

DSC_0393Eric Shedd is an intern in Vinland’s outpatient chemical health program. He is currently earning a degree in Addiction Studies from Hazelden Graduate School with an expected graduation date of December 2014.

What interests you about addiction studies?
That it involves working with people and making a difference in their lives.

Why were you interested in an internship at Vinland?
I came down for a visit and liked the clientele and people that worked here. I thought it would be a great learning opportunity.

What has been your most rewarding experience so far at Vinland?
Seeing people gain some of their self-esteem back, walking taller, and talking more.

What are your goals after graduation?
Continue the mental health education track.

What do you do in your spare time?
I’m a big golf fan, so hitting balls on the driving range or playing.

Where do you most want to travel, but have never been?
Take a train up to Machu Picchu, and then hike back down.

If you were immortal for a day, what would you do?
Fight sharks or wrestle alligators.
