What to Expect

Specifically designed for adults living with cognitive disabilities and varying levels of chemical dependency issues, this is a comprehensive program that addresses multiple barriers to long-term sobriety.

Sessions are conducted at a comfortable pace with frequent repetition, taking into account special needs and learning styles. Participants are provided with individual work to ensure needs are appropriately addressed. Counselors use several modes of teaching to accommodate different learning styles among participants.

Vinland’s outpatient chemical health program typically lasts 12 weeks but varies depending on attendance and needs. Groups meet Monday through Friday. Number of days attended per week is flexible around other obligations and medical needs.

Full Continuum of Care

Our location at Courage Center in Golden Valley makes referral to additional rehabilitation services convenient, ensuring that participants receive a full continuum of care to address their specific needs.

Family Involvement

Vinland offers a Family Program as a source of information for people who care about someone with a substance abuse issue. The program is not considered a replacement for family counseling, but rather it is a source of information about substance abuse, cognitive disabilities, and family relationships. Research has shown that recovery is stronger and more effective when family members are educated and involved in the treatment process.
