Vinland Welcomes New Staff to Lodges
April 19, 2010 - Vinland is pleased to announce that Gina Chamberlin is a new lodge coordinator for the supportive housing program. Chamberlin is currently earning her associates degree in addiction counseling from Minneapolis Community and Technical College. She plans to attend Metro State University beginning this summer to earn her bachelors degree in addiction counseling. She is also currently an intern in Vinland’s residential chemical health program.
When asked why she was interested in working at Vinland, Chamberlin said: “Previously I was interning at a smaller location in St. Paul. Through this experience I came into contact with many clients who were struggling with addiction but also were experiencing complications due to traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and mental illness (MI) issues that were not being addressed. The level of care these individuals required appeared to be greater than what this agency is equipped to offer. The experience I hope to gain at Vinland is a greater understanding of the TBI/MI addiction population.”
