LivingWorks Ventures Awarded Grant to Fund Recreation Activities at Lodges
November 2, 2009 - Vinland is pleased to announce that LivingWorks Ventures has been awarded a grant from The MENTOR Network Foundation to fund recreation activities for lodge residents.
Recreational activities are an important component in sustained recovery from substance abuse. LivingWorks and Vinland provide planned recreation activities to lodge residents in order to foster a life-long interest in sober leisure activities. For lodge residents, activities enable them to learn better ways to achieve goals, effective ways to solve problems, be able to handle stressful situations without the use of drugs or alcohol, and learn to socialize while sober.
LivingWorks owns houses for adults with disabilities in recovery from substance abuse. Vinland provides supportive housing services at all of LivingWorks lodges.
