Vinland Awarded HRSA Grant

New basketball court August 5, 2009 - Vinland is pleased to announce it has received a grant from the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The money will be used to make building and infrastructure updates at Vinland’s main campus on Lake Independence.

“Making the necessary upgrades and renovations at our main campus allows us to provide the best services possible to our clients,” Executive Director Mary Roehl said.

Updates will include renovating more than half of the residential rooms and bathrooms, installing new flooring in the women’s common area, and installing an asphalt pad for a basketball court near the main building.

“The room renovations and the addition of a basketball court will make a participant’s stay at Vinland that much more comfortable,” Roehl said.

The grant money will also allow Vinland to upgrade to a higher-capacity server and completely new phone system. All of the renovations are expected to be completed in 2010.
